Risque Rendezvous

31.10.2008

If you're feeling a bit risque, why not head on down to the picturesque Gore hotel for an evening of titillating entertainment courtesy of their new burlesque stage show. It's about five minutes walk from Gloucester Road or High Street Kensington tube and it's well worth the trip.

With its elegant design and subdued lighting, the Gore is the perfect venue for the statuesque Polly Rae and her dancers. We didn't feel like we were in a seedy club, the atmosphere felt entirely appropriate.

Polly Rae's show was thrilling and cheeky; exactly what you want. And it's not just for the guys, she also inspired confidence in the female members of our group – these are real women, with real curves, not the sticks you see on the catwalks. I heard several cries of “That's what I want to do!” And judging by the overwhelmingly positive male reaction, this is what men want too.

Wash this down with some indulgent (if expensive) cocktails and some inventive tapas dishes and you've got a recipe for a great night out, whatever the composition of your party.
