A Healthy Diet

.Avoid additives – especially colouring agents and sweeteners. While some additives stop the growth of bacteria, most are used to give food more colour or taste. Unfortunately, many additives have been found to cause health problems such as asthma, rashes and hyperactivity.

.Reduce your intake of salt. We get all the sodium we need from natural ingredients in food. Too much salt upsets the natural potassium-sodium balance.

.Strive for an alkalising diet. You’ve probably heard of acid rain, but have you heard of the human equivalent, acidosis? The body performs best when slightly alkaline, but most Western diets are full of acid-forming foods. Try to cut down on food and drinks like alcohol, chocolate, coffee crisps and fizzy drinks. Instead, consume more alkalising food and drinks like fruit, vegetables and herbal teas.

.Take a regular supplement of minerals and vitamins. Although fruit and vegetables should provide all of our minerals and vitamins, due to over-farming of soil, and problems with fruit and vegetables being picked when they’re too young, nutrients are often not as concentrated as they should be. For these reasons I recommend a natural supplement called Super Supplemental, which you can find at www.nutrichef.co.uk
